They’re Back
The Bellingham Festival of Music is back and I am a happy kitty. This festival began in 1993 and Arvin and I were the second couple to order season tickets that first year. We attended every season afterwards and always made sure we’d be in town for the festival. I continued the tradition when Arvin died in 2017. Then came COVID and the festival didn’t happen last year. This year it’s back… in abbreviated form, but definitely back. I attended the evening concert and enjoyed some amazing playing. This year it’s a chamber orchestra so the repertoire is different but just as masterfully played. Tonight we heard the Mozart Orchestral Suite #2 with Christina Smith on flute (wow!), Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, and Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major with Estelle Choi (wow again!). It was so good to be hearing live music again.
