95 Years

Another day, another mid-winter Christmas.  However, this one was just a little different.  Every second Sunday we walk with the Auckland Natural History Walking Club and today the club not only had a mid-winter Christmas lunch, but also celebrated its 95th anniversary, which was actually last year but had to be cancelled because of Covid-19.  The event was held at the Milford Cruising Club over on the North Shore.  The food was delicious, the company entertaining and the atmosphere convivial. Top left is the 95th birthday cake, bottom left and top right two of the Christmas decorations, and bottom right is a lovely stained glass window at a café in Remuera where we stopped for coffee on our way to Greenlane to board the coach taking us to the event. At the end of the afternoon, each of those who attended were presented with a certificate advising that the club had gifted a native tree in their name to Trees That Count. A very nice way to end a most enjoyable day.
