It seemed apt to use this shot of lads playing football in the grounds of Kilwinning Abbey. Sacred space for the sacred game, as one walker described it.
The area was new to me and the Glasgow Ramblers circuit around the town and Eglinton Country Park was more rewarding than I had expected. The extra is the Tournament Bridge across the Lugton, built to celebrate Queen Victoria’s coronation.
