Blowing in the wind

When we were driving home yesterday, it was 33C and the steering wheel was too hot to touch. This morning the air temperature was 19C and the water in the swimming pool was 26C, which made it feel very pleasant. Until you got out.

It was very windy when we set out for the 6 pm concert in Lagrasse, so we took some extra clothes, but regretted a lack of gloves, hats, and blankets ... in mid-July. It was impossible to shelter from the wind because it changed direction about every ten minutes.

It was a different kind of keyboard today ... the very talented Jean-Baptiste Baudin playing a very beautiful accordion. He played non-stop for nearly an hour and a half ... Piazzola, Galliano, Michel Legrand, a few jazz standards. He must have been good, because most of the audience resisted the cold and stayed through the encore. The third excellent accordionist we've heard in just a couple of months.

Afterwards we hurried, teeth chattering, to the 1900 for tapas and wine to warm up before going home. I have started an album for the festival, and you can get a taste of Ji-Bé here. I want to go to some more of the concerts, but unfortunately the weather forecast for the next few days shows no improvement.
