Peacock caterpillar

We'd been planning to be in Surrey today, but the threat of heavy rain has once again caused us to postpone a field trip - hopefully next Monday will be more settled. At least a day at home gave me a chance to start report writing and finally re-stock the cupboards, which were becoming decidedly bare. 
 
I didn't really think about photography until after dinner - fortunately we're rearing a few Peacock caterpillars who were quite happy to pose on a tasty piece of Common Nettle.
