Walking Boots ON!

Went off on our first walk for 18 months or so outwith the confines of Edinburgh and this saw us on an old favourite, Broughton to Biggar and back again via the old railway which was in active use from 1860 to 1966. The track was a branch line from the main line running Carstairs southward and was branched off at Symington and ran through to Peebles. There is no vistas or interesting views to be had and this wee clump of trees was the most interesting subject, however a cracking walk (17km) in sunny but not overly hot conditions was only surpassed by stopping off at the brewery in Broughton to buy some (well deserved) bottles to take home.
