The Skiers
A different day today - low cloud, a freezing cold wind and rather icy snow conditions. We caught up with the boys who were training on a different part of the mountain and asked them to stop for a photo shoot for the school website. So here they are, a quick stop in their training in preparation for the start of the racing tomorrow morning. (My son is the third from the right, in the bright lime jacket). Just after this photo their coach got them to pose with one ski up, and then pushed them all over!
We had a couple of coffee stops today to get out of the icy wind, and it was a relief to finally break for lunch. Strangely enough when we came out after lunch it was snowing ever so lightly but the wind had dropped and the visibility seemed improved.
Tomorrow the weather is predicted to be worse - and the racing starts! Some parents are race marshalls and so have to stand on the slopes in the adverse weather all day (my poor husband being one of them) Thankfully I am only a spectator and hopefully can sneak off intermittently for a coffee to get a break from the cold and snow. And hopefully the visibility is not too bad so that it is not hazrdous for the boys racing..
