Playing with a damselfly
I saw a damselfly by a small creek, it flew around and then sat on a small branch on the other side of the stream and watched me carefully as I approached with my camera. I held my camera with one hand, setting the focus beforehand and adjusting it by moving myself back and forth, then I stretched the other hand towards the damselfly and opened and closed the fingers and the damselfly repeated my movements with the wings. We signalled like this for a while before it flew off chasing another example of its own species. Maybe I was accidentally sending mating or warning signals to this elegant insect.
