Flat out.
This morning I have been helping to level the shower base. That took an hour and a half of the "under three hours" installation time. I guess that when the manual was written old houses with floors like ours were not envisaged.
I had long wanted a walk-in shower. Unfortunately our bathroom floor is unsuitable, so we were delighted to find this walk-in style on a raised platform. We still worried about how it would accommodate our wonky floor. Our most significant challenge was the hump that runs across the room. Clearly the house has settled around a beam.
Happily, the stars aligned. The base has six adjustable feet - one at each corner and two in the middle, aligned longitudinally. They fell neatly either side of the hump! Also the drain sump cleared the hump entirely and we didn't need to cut holes in floorboards. It's miraculous.
The sump is fitted. In French it is a "bond" but I have no idea what the correct English terminology is, and I refer to it as a sump. The drain is connected. We are on a break now until the sealant dries and we begin leak testing.
It's a perfect day for hard labour - heavy rain means that we have no desire to.go out anywhere and a blissfully cool 17 degree max today means that work is not too arduous.
It's not looking like I will be enjoying a shower in the morning but you can never tell
