Lily

Although it's flowers are short-lived, I have to smile every time I see this Orange Day-lily's blossoms. We have only one plant and I don't even remember when or where I got it. But it's been happily blooming, one flower at a time, for several years in an area just off our back patio. It just sticks it's pretty little self up there and is impossible to overlook. I did notice this morning that it's growing a 'pup', or whatever one calls a new Day-lily plant forming on the parent. I'll patiently wait for it to grow a few more 'air' roots, separate it from 'mom' and give it it's own space to thrive in.
