Not Winchester

So the plan today was to drive down to Winchester to look at some fitted wardrobes, Winchester being the only showroom which had a bedroom display. I allowed 2.5 hours for a 1.5 hour drive, to allow time for stopping and parking. I should have paid attention to the sat nav which was telling me to leave my normal route. I didn't, as it seemed to be taking me in the opposite direction, so I assumed something had gone wrong. Big mistake! The traffic started to slow and we found ourselves in a pre-pandemic quality traffic jam. Then without any warning whatsoever the road was totally closed and everything was directed off. At this point the ETA was well over our appointment time and the traffic was getting worse. I made the decision to turn around and head for home.

On the off chance I phoned the Cirencester showroom as I thought at least we could see what colours were available from the kitchen display. We were able to just pop in, check out all the colours, and, would you believe it, they had a single wardrobe unit on display. This told us everything we needed to know, so no need to go to Winchester anyway!

My blip is therefore from Cirencester. I don't know what was going on in the lower right hand corner, some form of video interview or vlog? I think I will feature in it as I walked directly behind the interviewee just before I took the shot.

I mentioned then that it was the FIL's 91st birthday but we couldn't see him. So today would have been his 92nd,  and we have been thinking about him a lot.
