It's my 10th blip! woop! I get a brand-spanking new icon next to my screen name. Is it the little things in life that are so precious or is it that I just have no life?
After hauling my late-ass all the way to Camden for Taiji this morning, and getting a decidedly dirty non-expression from Shifu (although he did give me some corrections, and eventually move me up one row, so he can't be that pissed) I was ravishingly hungry (hungry and beautiful at the same time?). The only decent burrito I know here is in Pimlico, and after 5 seconds contemplation I decided against it. A burger, yes..protein, possibly avocado...yes....the pub near West Kensington tube...
Which was closed at 5 minutes to noon. As I shook and rattled all available doors, a man standing near said, 'They're closed.'
To which I replied, 'Know any good places for burgers?' 'Burgers?! They open in 5 minutes. But, maybe The Goose about 1/2 mile up the road.' 'Are they open?'
'They open at half 10.'
Half ten. On a Sunday. The Goose is open at half ten on a Sunday....even earlier than the offies.....
In walking towards The Goose and contemplating if in fact I the pub burger was my best option, I decided to let my eyes do the driving. Shortly thereafter, along a nearby road, they fell upon a spot which they had fallen upon before.
Deli Bar
And that was enough. I followed my eyes in, spied and extensive chalk written menu and, as if I was my German brother translating from a cafe, I ate in.
Eggs royale and a Pinot Griggio
For those of you following the other story line, I'm still processing the goings on and working up to it. I may get around to posting something for yesterday, and that'd be where to look.
