Watching the big match

Having been neck deep in the editing, I hadn't watched any of the football matches before - and as Ottawacker Jr. had been banned from TV for basic childlike prickishness, this was the first time we had sat down together to watch the football in a long time. 

As it happens, it was pretty good. England played well - they almost managed to out-Italy the Italians. 

They're a decent side, England - and I like them. I never want them to win anything, of course, not yet. But Southgate has got together a good squad, and I can see certain elements of his All Blacks approach to things. And given that the average age of the team is 9, they have a good future together.
