B.A.C.K. to Basics

Meeting House Metal

It was a strange request, but as the caretaker of this beauty, I did as asked. I retrieved an old, crumpled, jagged edged piece of tin ceiling (an extra piece found in the bell tower), so the metal place could match the tin gauge. Seems odd to me, but if that’s what they need to make a replacement panel then that’s what I’ll do.

Really any excuse to visit this historical gem is fine by me. We’re making solid progress on the projects upon us this year.

1) tin ceiling repairs
2) granite footings stabilized
3) scrape and paint weathered boards

It’s a labor of love, and it’s worth it in order to preserve history for generations to come.
