Race for Life

Today was sports day and race for life. It was like winter this morning and high summer this afternoon. Strange weather.
If I thought Prom arrangements were stressful before, it’s nothing compared to planning an ‘imPROMptue’ celebration in the light of prom being cancelled. 4 of us mums are doing our best to get it organised and our phones have been red hot with messages going back and forth. We wanted to hold it next Friday but we were accused of excluding people so moved it to Wednesday which was the date of the original prom. Since Saturday, we’ve organised a marquee, music, red carpet, lights, balloons, photographer (thanks D), a working party on Sunday to put up the marquee, helpers to be there on the night, food and a glass of Prosecco on arrival .
It’s hard to imagine but a couple of parents have made a fuss about their 16 year olds having a glass of Prosecco so we’ve had to email everyone again and say there won’t be any booze. I’m gobsmacked.
