Village Signs

Adding to my series of village signs today. I go through Ickwell fairly regularly and often see this sign in the centre of the village. I’ve come to the conclusion that many villages just have these banner shape ones, rather than the sort of taller lollipop shape I have photographed up to now.
And actually, when looking up all about village signs, it seems the trend may have been started in Norfolk in the early 20th century, by Edward VII on the Sandringham Estate.
Also, interestingly, there is a village sign society. Who knew!
You may by now be thinking it’s been a slow day here. But not so. Our new (2 weeks ago) next door neighbour had his hot tub delivered today.
What do you do when you can’t get your new hot tub through the garage into the back garden - even when you have taken the back wall of the garage away? -  answer is in extras!
