Lavender attracts

We haven’t had many butterfly visits to the garden, so I was pleased to see this green veined white resting on a lavender flower.

We’ve been looking at the government’s guidance to the 3.7 million people (far more if you include partners and family also shielding to protect them) who are classified as clinically extremely vulnerable as all protections from Covid are removed from next Monday. The guidance is remarkably short (a paragraph) - be careful and avoid unvaccinated people (do they wear badges?). As far as we are concerned the new approach is totally irresponsible, an abrogation of all responsibility, and has nothing to do with the economy. It’s a cave-in to the libertarians in the governing party, and the significant minority of the population who couldn’t really care less about other people. We’ll just continue minimising all contacts with others as infection rates continue to rise.
