Sunflowers and fire

The 39° on Sunday broke into a storm as the penalties were being played.
I was torn between the two, but the storm turned out to be as elusive as an England win,  breaking to the north and the south but missing us in between.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday brought rain and a drop of 25° degrees.
We hunkered down in the mill, listened to blues and jazz and got my boy Gab into Springsteen. Nico saw another ghost crossing the hallway.
it was a dark shape, as high as the door, speeding from the stairs  towards the 'bathroom'.
Being French and not a natural seanachai, I had to badger him for details but he kept saying that it was 'a dark shape as high as the door, speeding from the stairs to the 'bathroom''.
I gave up after a while.
Fireworks are going off tonight and I can hear parties from my window.
In the mill we lit a fire.  A first for July.
