for her birthday today

because she is a jewel to me

throughout her life - regardless of whatever - she was/ or is facing - my mama has always - made sure that - her children were taken - care of to the - best of her ability - not an easy task - when you have 6 mouths - to feed, shelter and clothe - but she has - lived her 87 years - with nothing less - than dignity and grace - making sure we had, before - taking care of herself

though she endures challenges - now which cause her - to rely more on her - children than she’d like - her mindset remains the same - and she continues to embrace each - day with gusto and relish - hoping to eek out - every moment to its fullest - may i have the same - fortitude she has - as i approach my senior years - happy birthday, mama - i hope you’ve had…
