Time with Uncle Tom
Jon had an interview today in Maroochydore so we headed down quite early.
Unfortunately someone pranged the back of our car while we were at the roundabout. So easily done, and the last two weeks I’ve been so mindful about this!!! It was a young girl, who was very apologetic. A uni student. Numbers were exchanged so it’ll get sorted later. Very very minimal damage, hardly can be seen, so that’s a huge relief.
Thankfully I was driving and not Jon, otherwise he would have been even more stressed before his interview.
Interview done, and it went well, we headed further down to Caloundra to see brother Tom. We met up for a coffee and catch up. Tom took us to a smash repair shop to get a quote for fixing the damage. So pleased to have someone who knows the local shops.
While we were with Tom, the company called Jon and told him he was through to the next round of interviews, yay!!!
The father of the young girl called in the afternoon to apologise and said of course they’ll cover all costs.
Back home, and I showed Martin the negligible “damage”. We debated whether we should even bother this family, as the mark is so small. Points deduction on her license, insurance excess is huge for new drivers. But it is a brand new car … aargh … why did it have to happen?!?!?
Anyway, we spoke to the dad in the evening and told him we’re happy not to pursue this, and hope the young girl will be more careful. It’s so easily done. Just really thankful that it wasn’t a huge prang.
