War and Peace
Enjoyed the weather with a wee run on the bike around the Clyde: down to Govan via the Scotland Street School Museum (still got until June to catch the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition - well worth a look). Then through the Clyde Tunnel, along to Yoker, on the Renfrew Ferry and back via Braehead, Ibrox and Bellahouston Park.
Out at Braehead, I had a sort of "Bowling for Columbine" moment. On Quayside land between some hideous new houses and X-scape, a nice little park with fountains, shiny kids swings, and riverside pathways has been built. Across the river, BAE Systems at Scotstoun is building various new death machines for, among others, the Sultan of Brunei. There's a Type 45 under construction (I think it is HMS Dragon beyond the rope climb frame. Nice. Wonder if it'll be raining cruise missiles down on playparks in Tehran anytime soon. Can we do anything to stop that?
