“A Howl of a Protest”
Doug had physio at 11 this morning…she is happy with progress (as we are) and has been discharged and told to take it quietly.
We knew the nation wide protest was taking place with farmers in their tractors, utes, dogs and tradies in their Utes protesting against the Labour government policies. I’ve grabbed this exert from an online report.
“ The organisation said people were feeling overwhelmed by the avalanche of “poorly designed policies” and the “we know best, one-size-fits-all mindset” of the current Government. Farmers were not the only ones at the protests, with plenty of tradies, business owners and city residents lending their support. In 55 towns and cities from Kaitaia to Southland, large convoys of farmers made their way out of farm gates on and into their nearest town.”
Here in Timaru the turnout was huge, and so well received by the public clapping and yahooing in support. Timaru being the nucleus of a large rural area. The tractors from ginormous to the smaller variety and came from north, south and west (not east as that’s the Pacific Ocean) . Any rate, it was easy to grab a few photos as they did the Main Street, and apparently went through a second time. Another two collages in extra.
Btw, if you’re wondering Jacinda is our Prime Minister.
