Cabin Fever & Twin Churches
I rode to the former municipality of Pyhämaa today. This tiny cottage on the Gulf of Bothnia melted my heart. The Extra: the village also sports two churches. The red one is the gem – a 17th Century Offerings Church where sailors and their wives prayed for the safe return of the former. The new church is of mixed parantage. It was built in 1802, but was later destroyed stylewise with the unbecoming tower and colouring.
