Clasped Hands and Cherries

I enjoy a good browse in a graveyard. Today I went to my local graveyard which I've never visited before. The white clasped hands on this flat stone jumped out at me. The cherries with no obvious source nearby seemed symbolic of something too. Is there an etiquette to uncovering a grave like this? The words "DIED IN" are fairly clear and I fancy I can read "INFANCY".
