Collieston
Friends invited me to spend a night with them at a cottage they’d rented in Collieston. I’d only driven through the village once before so staying in this little gem was a revelation. All very social, we moved between houses to other friends to catch the last rays of sun - and to sip on gin and tonics. Another much younger school colleague insisted we join her for a dip in the sea - which we did after much persuasion. It was a amazing - glorious bobbing about up to our necks and catching up with gossip - and she
insisted it would stave off dementia. Got a bit burned and woke up the next morning a rather unflattering shade of beetroot!
