SILLY SATURDAY AT MRS. HCB'S SPA AND RETREAT

Hello Lovely Blippers,

It is a beautiful day today, so we all decided we would go to Mrs. HCB’s Spa and Retreat in their garden - we understand that Mr. HCB is the Head Masseur, but he didn’t want to be in this photograph - which is such a shame, but he said his fees would “go through the roof” if Mrs. HCB insisted!  Surprisingly, even she couldn’t persuade him today - but then he has been out working in the garden since just after 6 o’clock this morning, so I daresay he was feeling a bit tired and drained.

We all got dressed - if you can call it dressed - in our towels and headbands with Hoggy grumbling that his towel was hardly big enough to go round him.  We told him he should have been more careful what he was eating, but he said that he needs to put on lots of weight before the winter, so has been gobbling down whatever he can find.  He said that there are lots of slugs, caterpillars and earwigs in the HCB’s garden, so he is pleased to live here.  Just in case you are wondering, the pink container that says “Bigger, Fatter, Fuller” is for our hair and not describing Hoggy although if he gets much fatter, that would be and accurate description of him.

First of all, we thought that we would have do the “Cucumber treatment” and it is very restful for the eyes.  However, Tiny was rather miffed that there weren’t enough slices to go round, but I’m sure that having a pedicure and foot massage will make up for that.

Penny Penguin was beginning to wilt a bit in the heat and you can see that Snowy decided that lying down was preferable to sitting up, as I’m doing - she said that she felt more relaxed lying down.  We love all the great things that Mrs. HCB arranges for us and this was something different for us today - what will she think of next?

We are looking forward to having a massage later and the Healthy Glow Rose Oil will not only do our skin good, but will leave us smelling good too.  We will make sure that we put on plenty of Suncream though, and hope you all remember that too - very important today, as the temperatures are set to rise to 28˚ with lots of sun and a gentle breeze here.  We also need to remember to drink lots of water and if you don’t like plain water, then Mrs. HCB often puts slices of cucumber in hers - personally, I would rather put the cucumber on my eyes!

We’re not quite sure what happens at a Retreat - but we think it means we have to be quiet - now that could be difficult for Mrs. HCB but I’m sure WE will all manage to do that.

We hope that Admirer would giggle if she could see us now - Mr. HCB thought that Mrs. HCB was quite silly, but we all enjoyed it and will be lying in those garden chairs before too long, feeling good and smelling divine!  All this pampering has been “Blipping Wonderful” so thank you Mrs. HCB!

Have a great day, all you lovely Blippers and please be sensible in the sun.

With love from

JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin and Hoggy xxxxx

P.S.  We have decided to sponsor Mrs. HCB for her 100 Abstracts Challenge, which she is doing to raise awareness of the Mamie Martin Fund, which enables impoverished girls in North Malawi to obtain a good secondary school education.  If you haven’t sponsored her yet, you might like to think about it, but you don't have long - she's already up to Number 88 in her Challenge!  Here is the link :

P.PS.  Mrs. HCB has asked me to say she is very sorry for not commenting yesterday, but by the time her Blip friend, Heidi had left and after Mr. HCB got home from cricket, they sat in the garden until 10.30 chatting, and then it was time for bed!  She said she will try and do better today.
