I noticed that, Byron seemed a bit less cheerful than before – I asked him if anything was the matter, and he told me he'd just received an email saying that one of his Artistic Heroes – Christian Boltanski – has died.
Maybe I should have insisted that he left his phone at home…
I had hoped that a tour or the Observatory would lift his spirits, but it was not to be: the last admissions of the day had just entered and the attraction was now closed for the night.
Wilson suggested Byron might throw himself to the ground and burst into a fit of hysterical sobbing, and Nërp kindly offered to Exterminate the ticket booth with his laser gun, but I said I thought it would be best if we just accepted the situation.
