The Avenues

We spent last night in Hull at Westfield House, a B&B in the Avenues. The Avenues is a very pleasant, conservation area of Hull off Princes Avenue comprising wide tree lined Victorian houses; plus two fountains, now not working, on Westbourne Avenue and Park Avenue.

We went to Manzil Balti Restaurant, or Ray's Place as it is locally known, and had two tables full of great Indian food accompanied by giant naans.

After breakfast and a walk we set off home, stopping at the care home to see my mother before hitting the motorway. As usual it lashed with rain along the whole length of the M18 and was snowing as I drove along the M1 to the first service stop. Further south and the weather cleared as we neared home.
