Looking down...

onto the Castle and the loch from the ridge cairn, I could see the Cromarty Firth and the Easter Ross coast. It was a glorious morning, hot and sunny with a stiff breeze to make walking uphill pleasant. In the other direction ,, all the Cairngorms were visible from Mount Keen to Braeriach and the Monadhliaths too. Ben Rinnes was standing clear too in the East. All for very little effort!
There were Willow Warblers at the ruined croft and Stonechats along the fence. Swallows flew above and there was the occasional call of a Lapwing and Skylark.
