The Pro-Am Tournament

My husband loved sports and golf was his favourite activity during the warmer months.   He always had a membership to a local club and often would go out of town with friends to golf and occasionally would take a trip to the USA to golf as well.

His favourite tournament was an annual Pro-Am Competition that takes place in a tourist town not too far from our cottage.   This is a competition in memory of the Golf Pro who worked at the Golf Club and passed away in 1986.   This fundraising tournament still takes place every year and the proceeds are donated to the local hospital foundation.

Paul attended this tournament for 31 years and every so often played on a team that did well enough to bring home a prize.    This beautiful crystal decanter and glasses set is one of the first prizes that he was fortunate enough to win and is always on display in the dining room.
