Jolly St. Pádraig Day....
.....after a late night of Scouting admin and real ale, I was awoken at 4am by Nancy and Alison trying to break into the house. I was compelled to leave my deliciously warm bed to let them into the house.
A difficult morning with tempers fraying, probably due to lack of sleep, was replaced by a better afternoon with a walk around the Botanics and a cup of coffee and a scone. I do enjoy a fresh, well made scone...advancing age is a fine thing with its scones and gentle walks.
I monitored the attempts of our near neighbours to wrestle the League Cup back to the western fringe of the city centre, but their attacking frailties in front of goal and leaky defence returned to haunt them on the big stage and the 'wee cup' is now on the short journey to Paisley. Well done both teams for a five goal final though.
Off to the Manc tomorrow, so hoping for a happy Monday.
