The Orkney Foothills

A walk up the Bring Head followed by a meander down to Quoydale for an intense island update from CMC’s brother and wife.  Minutes were taken.   
 
The highlight of the day was a surprise meeting with Jim in the Hoy Café.   I hadn’t seen him for two years.  His health was really compromised about three years ago as he caught TB – he was hospitalised in Glasgow for many months and he lost all condition.  He was a great rock climber and hill walker.  He amazed us by saying he had just come to Orkney after having been up Buachaille Etive Mor (his 14th time) and climbing in Glencoe.  He has really turned his health around. 

However he has yet to do the Orkney Three Peaks Challenge.
