We had a lovely visit from Mum, Dad and Uncle John today for a roast dinner. Well, what else are you going to have in this weather? The garden thermometer was reading 35 degrees in the shade at lunchtime, which is a bit hot for my liking unless there’s a pool or sea nearby to cool off in.

I was festooned with lovely flowers which are now cheering up the dining room. Pictured, however, is a close-up one of the eight huge red roses that have recently appeared in the back garden.

Shame Cav didn’t get the record in Le Tour today, but he did brilliantly to get the green jersey and will have to get the next stage win in 2022.
