Arlington Row Alms cottages
Look on the inside of your Passport, these buildings apparently are depicted. Built in 14th century for wood storage, converted in 17th century to house workers. This small row has tiny windows and some are blocked either by climbing roses or shrubs, possibly intentional to keep some privacy, it must be very dark inside. The foreign tourists come here to take many pictures. This was taken late evening when we were able to venture out for a stroll.
This heat is not condusive to us oldies getting out and about. We drove to Burford this morning but it was too hot to walk far, so back into boiling hot car to visit the large garden centre but again could only wander around inside have a drink and return to base.
A disappointing three days away not being able to do much but at least we have survived to return home tomorrow. It is no fun when you cannot control your body heat, never gave it a thought before.
