Poppy’s Birthday

Pops turned 16 today. She was up early for card and present opening and we had pancakes for breakfast. My parents and my brother and family came over for coffee and cake at 10.30 and we sat in the garden for a while in the sweltering heat. This afternoon, Pops, Johnnie and I went over to Poppy’s friend’s house to help put the marquee up for Wednesday. It was a big job and took 7 adults and 6 teenagers 2 hours to complete.
This evening D and I took Pops, Johnnie and Alfie to Six restaurant in Cambridge for dinner. We had a lovely meal then went up to the roof garden for a drink afterwards. A tiring but good day and I think Poppy had a lovely birthday.
