Hummer Time...

This morning I watched the most amazing show on hummingbirds. It is on Nature on PBS - a link here.  I know most people won't be able to watch it due to location restrictions though (a few LEGAL ways around that but..) Anyhow - learning that a hummer's tongue splits in "4" with little "hairs" on it that allow it to drink nectar so fast. How some can fly at the oxygen level of 40,000 feet and of course - the hummer male mating dance.. I just had to blip a hummer today.

Most of the day there is a bird or two at a feeder or taking a  bath but everything got quiet. In the extra is a photo taken at over 500 feet / 150 meters and highly cropped the reason why..

A nice ride to the Oregon coast tomorrow for work and then..
