On Top Of World
Hooray, for I turn 1 Blipyears old today.
Obviously, I have severe developmental problems seeing as I started this malarkey back in 2007!! And as is only right and proper, it should be a backblip that marks this anniversary.
I kept putting off putting up the photo for this, hoping that I might find something suitably noteworthy. And as luck would have it, I think I've managed that.
I got a gig shooting the "making of" photos for a TV commercial over 2 days. And right at the end, someone decided it would be good to get a shot from the roof of the building we were filming in for inclusion in the commercial.
So up we climbed the 20 stories or so to the roof and I quickly grabbed a few long exposures while they did their own shots. It was all very exciting until I remembered how earthquake-prone Mexico City can be, and then I became just a little bit nervous and eager to get back to terra firma.
But it certainly was worth it, she is a city of spectacular night time vistas.
And to all those good and kind people with whom I've talked nonsense and who have been kind enough to look at my photos a big, warm thank you.
And also a BIG HATS OFF to Joe et al, at Blip who have created a wonderful space in the ether of the internet. Fostering connections between all manner of diverse, interesting and amusing people. This has played no small part in my development as a photographer (as opposed to someone who takes photos).
Long may it continue, lets just hope that in the future I can grow a little bit more quickly.
