Development

One looks at scene like this with mixed feelings. 

While there is nostalgia to be had, there is also modern structures which potentially can be more sustainable. Lots of trees had to be felled in the name of progress, construction. Will we be content long enough for the new trees to grow? Should we preserve the older buildings?
