promising bumper crop

Our crabapple tree usually produces a load of blossoms in the spring, but with late snowstorms, hailstorms, and lack of pollinators we never know what to expect. This year it looks like we could expect quite a harvest. But even so, the apples need to ripen and there is still the threat of hailstorms and critters eating the early fruit.
But I sure do love homemade apple butter from this tree!
