Grey Butcherbird (Cracticus torquatus)

This little Butcherbird is still young, and not afraid to come near the house and find insects near our back door. 

Butcherbirds can get quite aggressive and will swoop anyone (particularly children) that they feel are a threat. However this family have been fine and cause no trouble. They like to pick around our firepit and find scraps and crumbs of food left behind by the kids.
