Translucent
At this time of year, the light is extraordinarily harsh in the afternoon. There's no softness to be seen, which is why it was so hard up at the Park yesterday.
However, you can get some lovely effects using the sun as a back light. The Japanese anemones are out, and the afternoon sun lights them up really beautifully.
Which is as well, because there is a dearth of buglets at the moment. I am seeing the odd fly, not to mention the even fly, as well as a couple of honey bees, a million paper wasps, and maybe a Blue Banded Bee. But unless I can get some marvellous new angle on any of the above, I've really done them to death, and want to try something new.
More sunshine
