Hot

In Stratford the children’s rides were almost deserted, there was no one running around on the recreation ground. It gets to a point, rarely in this country, when it’s actually so hot that people are rendered listless  and just want to lie in the shade. I did what I had gone to do and scuttled home . I went to see what interesting insects I could find by the river. Hardly anything. Does it get too hot for insects I wonder. 
Found some soldier beetles on a thistle, that’s all.
