A fresh start - and a momentous day!
I forgot to post yesterday so I’m using a pic from yesterday (sorry!). It was my first day in my new job so I took the train to Paddington. I was pleased it was quiet and most people were still wearing masks even though it’s “freedom day”. I strolled from the station to the office and enjoyed seeing some new sights. Everyone at work was friendly and welcoming and I was pleased with all my IT kit which worked flawlessly! I already know my boss as we have worked together before and she took the time to give me a long rundown of my team and what’s going on. It was a long hot day and I finally got home about 7.25pm. Hopefully I’ll only be there a couple of days a week.
The other big news of the day is that I found out that I passed my flute exam with distinction! No one is more surprised than me but I am rather proud of myself. Proof old dogs can re-learn old tricks!
What a day it was! No wonder I forgot to post!!
Today I worked at home (kit worked flawlessly again) and I had 121 calls with my 6 direct reports. It was great to meet them all and hear about their work and experience. They seem like a lovely bunch.
It’s the end of term for my son so he was out at a party and my husband had to be taxi tonight - he kindly let me get a head start on sleep as I’m on the train again early tomorrow and meeting some of the Exec team!
Stay safe x
