Adelaide Gaol

This is one of the watch towers at the Old Adelaide Gaol. Built in the early Victorian era, it was replaced later by a much larger prison. We did a tour of the Gaol with the Victoriana Society.

It was a very grim place and what surprised me was how big it was and how much there was to see. It is now being maintained as a wonderful museum.
