Winchester

Lovely day. Strider and I have these occasional father and son outings, and they inevitably involve history and beer. Today was a very literal example of that as he took me for a walk through some fields and water meadows to the hospital of st cross which has been on this site since the early twelfth century. Passers by can claim the Wayfarers Dole which is free beer and free bread. 

The grounds and buildings are absolutely beauty’s and steeped in history.

We managed to visit four pubs and ate in one of them. Also did a bit of shopping.
