Canterbury Public Toilets

The Art Deco design suggests they were built in the 1930s, either for bus drivers terminating at Canterbury or punters on their way to and from the racecourse.

The separate men’s and women’s were replaced with a central unisex toilet some time ago. While I was loitering, someone entered and music played. A sign warned that the door springs open after 10 minutes. I would like to see it restored to its Art Deco glory with side entrances.

Thanks for hosting Bob. For some reason I thought the theme was “centre”.
