TX Whiskey

We went on a tour of F&R Distilling this past weekend to see where they make TX Whiskey. It was quite educational and very fun, especially since we were able to sample the product. TX is a blended whiskey that the company makes and distributes for now.

The real product from F&R Distilling will be a straight bourbon that is waiting patiently as it sits in the oak barrels. The straight bourbon will be unique to Texas since it is made from a patented strain of yeast that comes from a pecan tree in Glenrose, Texas. It will also be made from water that comes from the Trinity River. The bourbon must sit in the oak barrels for at least 3 summers before it will be bottled and sold. I can't wait!
