But not in happy circumstances.

Electric Eric is off at the bike shop as yesterday he suffered rather significant 'engine', read electric motor, troubles. I think the clutch in the motor has failed. It happened yesterday in Peterborough and the symptoms are no freewheeling, constant drag from the motor, and when power is required it feels remarkably like a car's clutch slipping. Lots of motor whizzing up to speed but not much go. Sad times for Eric!

As is always the way this happened the week before my hols to Shropshire when Eric was going to play a pivotal role. Fortunately Demo Derek has stepped into the breach for as long as is required. Thanks Del!

Hopefully Electric Eric can be fixed and/or Brompton offer some goodwill as I hear a new motor price starts with a 6 and that's not £60....
