Black-billed Magpie
Monday
This is my 7/19 blip, backblipped on 7/21
Crows and magpies are the campground scavengers. Usually they wait for people to leave, but this guy wanted to get a head start checking out our unused firepit. Sometimes people throw trash into them so I'm sure they occasionally find some tasty tidbits. S/he hopped down ito the pit and came up empty. PD had cleaned out the trash the previous campers left in it so there was nothing but ash.
I am grateful for our pleasant relaxing time in the mountains and our safe drive home. When we drove down out of the mountains, we found it smoky and hot down here. The smoke is from the big fire in Oregon. When we got home our thermometer said 101 F outside and 89 F inside. Becky had offered to come and turn the air conditioner on in the morning but I didn't want her to have to bother with it. I wished I had taken her up on it! It never really cooled off in the house.
