Early Risers

This lovely home, adjacent to the Taylor River Reserve, with some lights switched on, was a beacon of light as I walked with Maisie in the pre-dawn darkness early this morning. It has been a dull grey day with rain, heavy at times, setting in this afternoon. Son Duncan, along with a long line of other vehicles, drove out in the convoy from the badly damaged Queen Charlotte Drive via Picton this afternoon. That particular road will take many weeks to repair after the recent horrendous storm.
